May Procession for Mary 💙
This morning, we gathered together as a school community - with staff, pupils, parents and families - for our annual May Procession.
The celebration opened with scripture readings and prayers led by staff and pupils, followed by singing and processing to Mary’s Grotto in our beautiful school grounds. Children from every class across the school lay flowers and Mary was crowned.
It was lovely to hear ‘Ave Maria’ echoing across the field as each class processed with their special banners, united in faith and togetherness as a school family.
Following this special event, the children also discussed how we too can say 'yes' to God and be servants of faith, just as Mary was. What a wonderful way to start the final week of a successful term and to mark the Month of Mary.

Region 3 Principals Day
A great day bringing leaders together, with part of the day spent at Himley Hall, where Bishop Timothy joined us for a time focused on leadership formation and reflection. It was a privilege to welcome Bishop Timothy to Himley Hall and to spend this valuable time together as leaders.
We then came together for Mass at St Bernadette’s Church, Wombourne, where we were joined by Mgr Mark, concluding the day in prayer.

St Gabriel the Archangel (Region 2) Public Speaking Competition – Painsley
We were proud to host our Trust Public Speaking Competition today at Painsley, and what a brilliant day it was.
Students from across the CMAT spoke with real confidence, courage and clarity, bringing this year’s theme – The St Gabriel Way: Confidence, Courage and Service – to life. From Key Stage 1 through to Sixth Form, the standard was exceptionally high, with thoughtful, powerful speeches throughout.
A huge thank you to our judges: Alex Foulkes (writer and alumni), Bridget Williams (Governor), and Margaret Yates OBE (Catholic Senior Executive Leader) for their time, expertise and support.
Well done to every student who took part: you represented your schools superbly. A fantastic celebration of oracy and student voice.👏

CAFOD Live Simply Award achieved! 🌍
After almost three years of hard work, we are so proud to have been awarded the CAFOD Live Simply Award following our assessment this week! The award recognises schools who live out their faith by living simply, sustainably and in solidarity with others. A huge highlight was our six pupils who met with the assessor—they were eloquent, thoughtful and reflective, explaining not just what we’ve done, but why we do it. Over the years, we have: Raised money for global causes like CAFOD’s toilet twinning Taken action locally through litter picking, growing and caring for our environment Built strong links with our parish, families and local community, including work with a local care home This has truly been a whole community effort.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey - what an achievement!

This remarkable contribution supports a truly worthwhile cause and reflects the values of commitment, compassion, and service to others that we are so proud to see in our students. Josh’s dedication and effort have made a genuine positive impact, and his achievement is an inspiration to us all.
